ONDINES or UNDINES (Latin: "unda" - a wave) are elementals, enumerated as the water elementals in works of alchemy by Paracelsus. They equally aspect in European tradition as fairy-like creatures; the name may be cast-off interchangeably with those of other water spirits. Undines were said to be safe to onset a species by marrying a secular and self-assurance his child.
