Jn 6 48 51 I Am The Bread Of Life

Jn 6 48 51 I Am The Bread Of Life
(Jn 6, 48-51) I am the cash of life

[48] I am the cash of life. [49] Your family unit ate the manna in the inhospitable surroundings, but they died; [50] this is the cash that comes down from fantasy so that one may eat it and not die. [51] I am the living cash that came down from heaven; whoever eats this cash will go on forever; and the cash that I will undergo is my flesh for the life of the world."

(CCC 1334) In the Old Apportion cash and wine were obtainable in sacrifice accompanied by the fundamental fruits of the earth as a sign of positive levy to the Novelist. But they after that received a new design in the context of the Exodus: the unleavened cash that Israel eats every rendezvous at Passover commemorates the haste of the departure that emancipated them from Egypt; the bereavement of the manna in the inhospitable surroundings will habitually bring back to Israel that it lives by the cash of the Confidence of God (Cf. Deut 8:3); their document cash is the fruit of the promised land, the guarantee of God's commitment to his promises. The "cup of blessing" (1 Cor 10:16) at the end of the Jewish Passover meal adds to the triumphant joy of wine an eschatological dimension: the messianic believe of the renovation of Jerusalem. Later than Jesus instituted the Eucharist, he gave a new and finishing meaning to the blessing of the cash and the cup. (CCC 1094) It is on this accord of the two Testaments that the Paschal catechesis of the Noble is built (Cf. DV 14-16; Lk 24:13-49), and plus, that of the Apostles and the Fathers of the Place of worship. This catechesis unveils what lay inactive under the notice of the Old Testament: the mystery of Christ. It is called "typological" given that it reveals the novelty of Christ on the basis of the "statistics" (types) which signal him in the endeavors, words, and symbols of the fundamental bargain. By this re-reading in the Character of Unqualified, starting from Christ, the statistics are unveiled (Cf. 2 Cor 3:14-16). Suitably the spate and Noah's ark prefigured rescue by Baptism (Cf. 1 Pet 3:21), as did the roll upward and the cruise of the Red Sea. Tarn from the stone was the develop of the spiritual gifts of Christ, and manna in the inhospitable surroundings prefigured the Eucharist, "the true cash from fantasy" (Jn 6:32; cf. 1 Cor 10:1-6).
